Downtown Portland Search We consider the Portland "Downtown
Area" as those neighborhoods where you can walk downtown within 15-20
minutes. All on the west side of the Willamette River. This
includes the neighborhoods of Downtown, Northwest District, Old
Town/Chinatown, Pearl District, and Goose Hollow. Read more about

Northwest District/Nob Hill Homes for Sale Located just Northwest
of downtown and directly west of the Pearl, Northwest is within walking

A popular commercial area exists on Northwest 23rd Avenue (and to a
lesser extend on 21st Avenue) running 10-12 blocks. Some of Portland's

is a browsers' paradise with numerous shops ranging from clothing boutiques

connects the Northwest District with downtown and Portland State University.

townhomes, and condos. This area has a large number of apartment
buildings. The neighborhood usually has a number of construction
projects for condos and townhomes to include conversions of apartments
into condos.

South Waterfront Search South Waterfront is Portland newest
neighborhood that is transforming an abandoned industrial site along
the Willamette River south of downtown into a high-rise neighborhood
as dense as parts of Manhattan. Eventually, some 20 high-rise buildings
will be built on the site. This includes medical offices and labs for
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).

Portland West Hills Searches

West Hills Search From downtown look west and you'll see the
West Hills. The hills extend along a ridge that covers both the northwest
and southwest (south and north of Burnside Street). Most homes
in the West Hills start at $400,000 and can go well over a $1,000,000.
This is because many offer views of the city and mountains and you're
just minutes from downtown.

Portland Southwest Searches

Southwest Portland Search If you asked a hundred or so Southwest
Portland residents why they chose to live on the "West Side" instead
of the "East Side," most would give you three reasons: schools, preference
for hilly terrain, and it all seems "close in." You may also hear things
like "safe neighborhoods" and "parks." West Burnside Street is the boundary
on the north and the Willamette River is the east boundary. The south
boundary from east to west is Lake Oswego and Tigard. The city of Beaverton
is the west boundary.

Homes Southwest Portland offers homes
of all styles to include ranch, traditional, cottage, condos, and
townhomes. It would be a challenge to find a home under $240,000.

Portland Southeast Searches

Southeast Search Cross over the Willamette River from
downtown and you're in the Southeast's Central Eastside Industrial District,
home to the industrial plants that provide thousands of jobs for Portlanders.
Streets are in a traditional block/grid pattern on level land, but there
are exceptions to this in a few neighborhoods such as Eastmoreland.
Southeast Portland is a "mixed" bag. Close in neighborhoods offer
charm. The further out you go, the scene changes to strip malls
and 3-4 cars in the driveway.

Portland Northeast Searches

Northeast Search If you're looking for urban living, historic
homes, tree-lined streets, city parks, and street shopping instead of
malls, you're want to consider Northeast Portland. Most of Northeast
Portland' streets are in a traditional block/grid pattern on level land.

Homes If you want a newer home, just
go further north and/or east. Whereas closer in you will find
2-story bungalows, four squares, Tudors, cottages, etc. The
one-story homes (along with strip malls) are located further out.

of north Portland as the area of opportunity. If you review appreciation
in the Portland metro area the last few years, you will find that North
Portland has been at the top of the pack.

Interstate MAX Light Rail Search The I-MAX (Interstate
MAX Yellow Line), a 5.8-mile segment, has sparked even more interest
in the North. The MAX Yellow Line connects the Expo Center in North
Portland with downtown and the rest of the transit system. Many
of the commercial establishments have undergone face lifts and new businesses
are appearing. Also a new type of resident is arriving daily,
those that want a bargain home that needs some work.

Suburban Communities Searches
Beaverton With a population of 78,000
and a size of 17.2 square miles, Beaverton is the largest suburban community
in the Portland metro area. Drive west of out downtown and it's
the first suburban community you will encounter. Many of the west

Lake Oswego Located about eight miles
south of downtown Portland, Lake Oswego is not your typical bedroom
community. The thriving city of 33,000 is centered around the
lake of the same name and bordered by the Willamette River. Many
consider Lake Oswego as having the best schools in the metro area. To

Because Lake Oswego is such an attractive place
to live for people of all ages, the community has a good supply
of condos and townhomes along with detached single-family homes
with prices from moderate to high.

Tualatin Tualatin is located 12
miles southwest of Portland, accessible by Interstates 5 and 205 and

West Linn West Linn is home to 23,090
residents southeast of downtown (15-18 miles) and is one of the fastest
growing communities in the Portland metro area. The 7.5 square
mile area has a good mix of older homes and established neighborhoods
along the Willamette River to the soaring views of the area's luxury
hilltop homes. It has the highest household income (2000 U.S.A.
Census) in the metro area. It is also known for its schools. To
